Rachel and Todd with Blue Kangaroo helped me SO MUCH when I had to file a claim with my home insurance. I was getting nowhere with my insurance company until they got involved. Excellent communication, very professional and friendly. I highly recommend using their services and really can’t say enough good things about them. Water……While required to sustain life, and a plethora of other things, water can be extremely destructive. My daughters and I are experiencing how destructive it can be right now. 2 Sundays ago my youngest went up to her room as we filed into the house after a long day out. About halfway up the stairs to her bedroom (located over the garage) I hear my youngest shriek “M O M!” She had stepped into water on the steps and I went up to that same spot and there was soaking wet carpeted steps leading all the way up to her bedroom. All thru her bedroom. About 2 inches in her bathroom. And it was still coming. It was running over the back of the toilet tank. And I couldn’t stop it. I turned off the valve on the wall behind the toilet. Nothing. I turned off pipes under that sink. Nothing. I turned the levers atop the hot water heater to the off position. Nothing. I was then forced to call 911 for the FD to come turn the water off to the whole house from the yard because I didn’t have the proper tool. They were here fairly quickly! I’m not sure when the water started but we’d been gone about 8 hours. Add another hour of running water from the time we find it to getting it turned off. That is a WHOLE LOT OF WATER. We got every towel and comforter and blanket and sheet in the house and tried to sop up this sloshy mess. That was an exercise in futility. The next morning my plumber came out (Beach Plumbing) and determined that the valve attached to the pipe behind the toilet had gone bad so the water never stopped running after the last time the toilet was flushed. Which must have been just before we left for the day judging by the amount of water everywhere. Next call was State Farm. Homeowners insurance while expensive is a great thing to have! I tell you all of this to tell you that this awful experience could have and should have been a whole lot worse. Packoutz is the company we are fortunate enough to have helping me thru this entire process and all that it entails on the road back to normal. The water had come thru the garage ceiling. When it did, it soaked all of the contents beneath it. Let me just add that I can’t park in my garage because I’m currently using it as a storage unit. Not on purpose. It just ended up like that over time and downsizing homes. So this water,add humidity and pile on temps in the 80s. We develop black mold. Quickly. Because I couldn’t open the garage door to get air circulating inside. Why? The spring popped! Of course it did. Why not? SMH. Packoutz has made this whole mess tolerable. They have calmed my fears and eased my apprehension. They handled the water removal people and the mold people and they’re handling all the small things consulting me along the way and keeping me from loosing my mind along with the other things that are a total loss. They had dumpsters and pods delivered and I haven’t had to miss work because I trust them as they are overseeing it all. As a single mom working hard to make life happen, having them has been a priceless gift and I am so grateful to them! They make sure everyone cleans up each day before they leave. They orchestrate the delivery and swapping of dumpsters when full etc. Things I didn’t know that I would ever need to know, they advise and we decide and no pressure and I am secure in the knowledge that they have our best interest at heart. Long winded story I know but I had to explain the situation. If I could give them 10??s I most assuredly would. Rachel and Todd are professional, efficient and extremely knowledgeable in the restoration field and all that it encompasses. And I am grateful to have them on my side! Hide Full Review
